The Lily Calvert Foundation was established in memory of baby Lily Sujata Calvert, who passed away aged 10 and a half months of an incurable brain condition known as Miller Dieker Syndrome. The fund aims to raise awareness around the importance of paediatric palliative care, and to support children and families living with an terminal medical condition. LCF also aims to encourage conversations around grief and child loss to highlight the importance of open communication and ongoing support to those who are grieving.
In 2020 LCF funded the Lily Calvert Musical Care program, a music therapy program that trains medical and support staff to incorporate music therapy in their day to day care of children at the Very Special Kids Hospice who are receiving respite or end of life care.
